Following on from the launch of Instagram Stories back in August – which gave users a way to ‘share moments’ and currently sees ‘over 10 million people use it every day’- the platform has now introduced Live Video.
However, this latest news shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise given that Instgram is now owned by Facebook and we’ve already seen the launch of Facebook Live.
What’s so great about Instagram’s Live Video?
Currently Instagram Stories allow you to share of-the-moment content in real-time with your audience, but with the introduction of Live Video users can now take it to the next level.
And to allow users to unleash their creativity and ‘feel more comfortable’ about ‘sharing anything, anytime’, the live content disappears from the app once the user has finished.
How user-friendly is it?
As you’d expect using Instagram’s Live Video is straightforward and easy. Tap the Start Live Video button by swiping right in your feed to open the camera and go live. Both you and your followers can pin comments during your broadcast or you can turn this feature off altogether if you prefer.
And to ensure your followers don’t miss any of your broadcasts, they’ll get a notification to say you’re live and will also see Live under your profile photo in the stories bar. Users can also discover more live stories on Explore by tapping the Top Live button.
How can I use it to promote my business?
Just as you would use regular video or Facebook Live, use it to connect with your followers and customers by delivering engaging content they’ll feel is of value.
This could be anything from broadcasting demos of your products or services, giving them a glimpse of the inner workings of your brand or sharing the highlights of an event you’re either hosting or attending. You can also use Live Video to share your expertise by offering tips and advice, your take on a topical events and stories, as well as hosting FAQ sessions.
The possibilities are endless, so get brainstorming and see how you can utilise Live Video to interact with your customers and followers on Instagram.
